Refer a Friend Programme Terms and Conditions

These Refer a Friend Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to the heySlim refer-a-friend programme (the “Programme”). By participating, you agree to these Terms.

Company details: The Programme is operated by Panmedica Medical Distribution Limited (trading as heySlim) (“heySlim”, “we”, “us”, “our”).


1. How the Programme works

1.1 The Programme allows eligible existing heySlim customers (“Referrers”) to invite friends (“Referees”) to join heySlim using a unique referral link or code.

1.2 A referral becomes successful when the Referee:

  • is verified as a new heySlim customer, and
  • completes a Qualifying Purchase (defined in section 4), and
  • the purchase is not cancelled, refunded, disputed, or charged back within the validation period.

1.3 Participation is voluntary and is not a condition of using heySlim’s services.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Referrer eligibility: You must:

  • be an existing heySlim customer with an account in good standing;
  • be 18+ and ordinarily resident in the UK; and
  • only refer personal contacts with whom you have a genuine personal relationship.

2.2 Referee eligibility: The Referee must:

  • be a new heySlim customer (never previously held an account or placed an order with heySlim);
  • be 18+ and ordinarily resident in the UK; and
  • meet our onboarding requirements (including any clinical eligibility checks where applicable).

2.3 Employees, contractors, affiliates, and commercial promoters may be excluded or limited at our discretion.

3. Important medical, MHRA and advertising compliance

3.1 The Programme relates to referring people to heySlim’s weight management service, not to any particular prescription-only medicine (“POM”).

3.2 No advertising of POMs: Referral messages must not mention, imply, recommend, compare, or promote any specific POM (including brand names), or claim outcomes tied to medicines. This includes statements about efficacy, safety, speed of weight loss, or “access” to a specific medicine.

3.3 Clinical independence: Any prescribing decision is made only following an appropriate clinical assessment by a qualified prescriber. A referral does not guarantee eligibility, prescription, supply, or any particular treatment.

3.4 You must comply with applicable UK laws and guidance, including the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 and MHRA advertising guidance.

4. What counts as a Qualifying Purchase

4.1 A “Qualifying Purchase” is the Referee’s first paid purchase of an eligible heySlim programme or plan, as shown in the Programme description in your heySlim account at the time of referral.

4.2 A Qualifying Purchase is only valid once payment is completed and cleared, and is not:

  • refunded (in whole or in part),
  • cancelled,
  • disputed/charged back, or
  • flagged as fraudulent.

4.3 Where a Qualifying Purchase involves delivery of a physical item, we may require confirmed dispatch and/or delivery before validating rewards.

5. Rewards

5.1 If a referral is successful, we will issue rewards to the Referrer and/or Referee as described in the Programme offer shown in-app (the “Reward”).

5.2 Unless we state otherwise in the offer:

  • Rewards have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be exchanged for cash;
  • Rewards may be provided as account credit, a voucher, or a discount code;
  • Rewards can only be used by the eligible account holder.

5.3 Reward amounts and conditions: The value, format, eligible products, expiry, and any minimum spend will be set out in the Programme offer at the time of referral (for example: “Referrer gets £X off their next order; Referee gets £Y off their first eligible purchase”).

5.4 No stacking unless stated: Rewards cannot be combined with other promotions, vouchers, credits, or discounts unless the offer explicitly permits it.

5.5 Rewards typically cannot be applied to delivery charges, taxes, or third-party fees unless explicitly stated.

6. Issuing and redeeming rewards

6.1 Rewards are issued after referral validation, usually within 30 days of the Qualifying Purchase (unless the offer states a different timeline).

6.2 To receive a Reward, the Referrer must have an active account in good standing at the time the Reward is issued.

6.3 We may withhold a Reward while we investigate suspected fraud, misuse, technical tracking issues, or eligibility concerns.

6.4 If a Qualifying Purchase is later refunded or charged back, we may void the associated Reward(s) and, where already issued, recover the Reward value (e.g., by removing credit or applying an offset to future credits/discounts, where lawful).

7. Tracking and administration

7.1 We may administer the Programme using a third-party referral platform (for example, Growsurf, or a successor provider) to track referrals and validate eligibility.

7.2 Attribution: Unless stated otherwise, referrals are attributed on a last-click basis (i.e., if a Referee uses multiple referral links, the most recent eligible referral link before purchase may be credited).

7.3 We are not responsible for lost referrals due to factors outside our control (for example: cookie blocking, device changes, ad blockers, private browsing, or incorrect link use).

8. Referral communications rules

8.1 You must only share your referral link/code privately (e.g., direct message, email, or 1:1 chat) with people you know personally.

8.2 Public sharing is prohibited. You must not post referral links/codes on:

  • social media, forums (including Reddit), deal sites, coupon sites, public groups, or websites;
  • paid ads, sponsored posts, or marketing campaigns; or
  • automated/bulk messaging systems.

8.3 You must comply with PECR (privacy and electronic communications rules). Do not send unsolicited marketing messages. Only contact people who would reasonably expect to hear from you.

8.4 You must not:

  • make medical claims, provide medical advice, or discuss dosage/side effects;
  • use “spammy” tactics, harassment, or pressure;
  • misrepresent heySlim or imply you work for/represent us.

9. Examples of compliant and non-compliant wording

9.1 Compliant examples (service-focused, factual):

  • “I’m using heySlim’s weight management service. If you want, I can share a referral link.”
  • “heySlim offers consultations and ongoing support for weight management. Want my referral link?”

9.2 Non-compliant examples (not allowed):

  • “Join heySlim to get [medicine name].”
  • “This guarantees you’ll be prescribed the same medication as me.”
  • “You’ll lose X kg in Y weeks with the medication they give.”

Using non-compliant wording may lead to removal from the Programme and forfeiture of Rewards.

10. Limits, verification, and anti-fraud

10.1 We may apply limits (e.g., maximum referrals per person, per time period, or per household) and we may change these limits from time to time.

10.2 Self-referrals, duplicate accounts, fabricated identities, bulk/incentivised referral schemes, and any attempt to game the Programme are prohibited.

10.3 We may request information to verify eligibility (including proof of identity) before issuing Rewards.

10.4 Our decision on referral validity is final, acting reasonably and in order to prevent abuse.

11. Privacy and data protection

11.1 We process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy. Participation may involve sharing limited data with our referral platform provider strictly for Programme administration (typically name and email).

11.2 We will not share a Referee’s health information or clinical outcome with a Referrer.

11.3 Referrers are responsible for ensuring they contact Referees in a privacy-compliant way (including PECR rules for electronic messages).

12. Monitoring and enforcement

12.1 We may monitor public platforms to identify public posting of referral links/codes.

12.2 If we find a public posting, we may require removal and may suspend or terminate your participation, void pending Rewards, and/or recover previously issued Rewards where lawful.

12.3 We may report serious breaches to relevant regulators where appropriate.

13. Changes, suspension, and termination

13.1 We may change, suspend, or terminate the Programme (including Reward amounts) at any time.

13.2 Changes will be effective once published in the Programme description and/or these Terms. Continued participation means you accept the updated Terms.

13.3 If our referral platform provider ceases service, we may modify or end the Programme.

14. Disclaimers and liability

14.1 The Programme is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or that every referral will track successfully.

14.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability relating to the Programme is limited to the value of the unpaid, valid Reward(s) for the relevant referral.

14.3 You agree to indemnify us for losses arising from your breach of these Terms or unlawful/non-compliant referral activity (including prohibited advertising of POMs).

15. Relationship

15.1 You are a customer, not an agent, representative, or partner of heySlim.

15.2 You must not create materials using our branding/trademarks or suggest you are authorised to act on our behalf.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
